Spoiler Alert!!! If you still haven’t seen Star Wars The Force Awakens do not keep reading, save this craft for when you have.
When I first saw Star Wars The Force Awakens (and the many times after) so many things struck me emotionally, one of them being Rey living on her own in a deserted toppled AT-AT that she calls home.
While giving us a glimpse of her everyday routine life on Jakku, its hard not to be overwhelmed by emotions and sadness. One thing that stood out to me was the handmade rebel alliance pilot doll created of scraps and salvaged materials. My first reaction was sadness but then soon after I was overcome with hope… hope for Rey, hope for the future. I released this doll wasn’t just a symbol from her past but a totem of wheres she’s been and where she can and will go.

So naturally, not only did I want to make one, I wanted it to have a purpose a… ‘Rey of Hope’.
What a perfect way to give back and spread hope. Hope to a sick or sad friend, a stranger or one for yourself that you may pass on once finished with it.
Lets share a Rey of Hope and put hope and love back into the world, encouraged by something thats always been there for us… Star Wars, The Force.
